It looks like there should be enough room on the side of the adapter/mount to add tabs for mounting a BL-Touch. I can take a closer look tomorrow.

OMG that would be amazing! 💙

I did print the mount already. It warped as well while still sticking to the bed enough to finish the print.
But due to this (to have a non-warped mount) I was considering to re-print it with a brim anyways.

Is there a CAD for this? Thanks

Sorry, this was designed entirely in  Blender. I have had luck following this tutorial to import an .stl into fusion and convert it to a solid. It can be done in FreeCad too but results in much larger .step files.

Oh this is gonna be sweet. Can’t wait for the orbiter and fans to show up!

I've been using it for a long time. An excellent design. Cooling is great.

@atrushing is a mini sherpa version a consideration? since its the best extruder out there 😛

I have a counter-proposal for you. Have you seen my HexRAT extruder? It is functionally identical to the Mini Sherpa and can use a 8 or 10 tooth pancake stepper but its mounting is compatible with an Orbiter 2.0.

I want to have it operational on my V-Minion before I release the files but I have already modified a Mini SB for it.

Thats looks awesome!! Yes, and cool its compatible with the Orbiter 2 mounting! When you are ready, I will definitely give it a try, maybe release a BOM for hardware beforehand? Then I can make sure I have everything.. if needed.

Looking forward to the release of the files - you have another tester for it as I need to rebuild the tool head on my first V0.

Should be the same as the mini-Sherpa, I assume.

Correct assumption! That Google doc is a lot more useful than what I was working on.

The required screws are

2 - M3x25 BHCS
2 - M3x8 SHCS (doubles as positive stop for filament release lever)
1 - M3x16 BHCS (could also use 3x20mm filament latch pin)
1 - M3x8 BHCS

The only additional part would be the filament/ERCF sensor(s) (if needed).

  1 - A3144 hall effect sensor
  1 - 10K resistor
  1 - 3x6mm magnet
  1 - M3 DIN 125 washer (must be magnetic)

You just had to go and give me a challenge. Next thing you'll ask is if it's compatible with ZeroClick.. 😟

It turned out to be a pretty clean design and it would be a good candidate for the V0 Umbilical mod. I might even have an interesting idea for the cable door. 😉

Looking forward to it ... much, I love this, want to use your extruder, so just have to wait a bit.

I think I'll avoid picking favorites (or least favorite) for now 😜

Here is the ZeroClick version. Do you think you could help me sanity check the Mini Sherpa Stealth design? When I figure out the cable door and cable management I'll upload a new mod.

I'm just not sure which will be done first, the Sherpa or the HexRAT. I still have a few hurdles to jump with my V-Minion build.

That at this stage is more important - love following that build and the engineering involved in it.

Does this work with the umbilical mod? I don't see any examples. Just wanna know before I start printing

In theory, it would work and here is a umbilical mount that was designed to fit the Orbiter V2. I don't think that version would fit my motor_bridge which allows the filament_release_lever to work. Also, the cable_door wouldn't have anywhere to mount.

I will play with the original to see if I can get things to work together. I think it would be easier if it was vertical instead of tilted back as shown here.

That'd be awesome! I'd really like to use this with the umbilical mod. Really want that extra cooling this provides because stock with the 3010 fans is just so weak.

I have updated the motor_bridge and added an Umbilical_mount in the Downloads section.

I was just wondering how I was going to make this work with my umbilical pcb :’) thanks bro, appreciate your hard work
