This setup is easy to put together and required me to buy only a hose off Amazon for under $20. Nice!

I've not finished the build but have the hose/exhaust up and running on my Trident (had a closed vent plate before). The center and two middle sections I've printed fit together snugly as described. Just need to finish out all the sections to build a window-wide setup, add weatherstripping, and attach hose. Sweet!

Works great. Bought a hose with clamps for $25. I did extend the middle pieces so that I didn't have to print as many, and slightly modified the bottom slots to not need supports at all, which saved a lot of time.

The hose adapter should probably be redesigned with a longer insert part/tabs, it does not really snap in, and removing all of the supports was not fun. Although I only had to do it once, so not a lot of incentive to update it.

I noticed the same about the center link and hose adapter. I had decided I'd glue them together and seal with hot glue. The rest is getting some spray coatings to make it more solid from end to end and spray painted. The supports definitely sucked on the hose adaptor. In the end I printed it standing vertically to reduce the amount of support inside the part so it'd be easier to remove.

In all, this was just what I needed. No more melted plastic smell filling my house.

I tried to ask this in the questions section, but it wouldn't post:

Love the design. Curious exactly what you used for the one way vent cover? I see you listed 1.5-2mm plastic in the BOM, however, I'm finding "stiffer" sheets of plastic.

Thanks!

Could you share what fan you're using? It looks a bit thicker than a regular 60mm fan.

I forget which fan that was but in truth, you can use any thickness fan you want, as long as you can screw it down. I've found using thicker fans (20 or 25mm) can move more air with less noise, but the devil is in the details (and a heaping portion of personal preference).

Yeah, I'm concerned my regular 15mm thick fan doesn't have enough pressure to do this. It's like 4.5 CFM I think. I'll try and report back. Thanks!

I ended up using a Delta fan, AFB0612EH. I run it at about 45% and there's no ABS fumes whatsoever. My duct is kind of long and has 3 bends in it, once I stop procrastinating and shorten it, I probably will be able to lower the fan speed by 5 or 10%. My chamber temps are around 47-48C with this thing on.

Great mod, thank you!

Hi,

I was wondering if you have a version of the 60mm to 2.5" adapter that can be used for an exhaust hose going right or left instead of down.

Thanks

are you referring to the part that bolts to the fan?

just unbolt, rotate, and bolt it back up

Yes, I could do that, but the angle would be off since it is not a 90 degree bend. Simply rotating would have the exhaust pouring somewhat to the wall  preventing the printer from being pushed closer to the wall.

I do not have a 90 degree version of that connection. I'll check if I have that file over this weekend and see if I can whip up a modified version for you. I'm also not sure that would be very easy to print, but I know some of the other parts here aren't either.

Hi,

Thanks and much appreciated. I agreed it will be a messy print requiring supports, but I would like to try to save that bit of space. I could always modify the files if you shared the original 3d.

Oh that makes sense, my bad.

That sounds good. Just as a heads up, if I have it, It's probably going to be an f3d file since I drew it up in fusion 360.

Hi, that's actually perfect. Fusion 360 is my preferred software.

I was able to find it. I've attached the file to the original post. That was one of the first models I ever built, so sorry if it's hard to work with, haha.
