Join the club. That's one of the reasons I decided on a kit. Getting a wiring harness - no crimping - wouldn't that be nice. Especially since @smirk referred to me as Rapunzel

I am a bit al a loss now, apart from two connectors for the A and B motors the build is finished I guess.
I don't know whether the soft- and firmware installing and configuration also has a place here on this build blog but I'm sure the honorable mods and members of this illustrious forum will set me straight.

You know when you assemble something you're always left with a mysterious part. Well.....what is this ? Did I forget something ?

Never mind, I found it it's a Pinda probe adapter.

Looks great! Now for the software/firmware install and the tuning. I spent longer on the tweaking & tuning than on the physical build, but it was just as fun in the masochistic way that the wiring was fun. Feel free to keep sharing the software side if you want--there's likely to be even more questions there than from the physical build.

Oh I will keep sharing and I'm sure there'll be a ton of questions.  I have managed to get another printer working with Klipper, sort of, so I have an idea what problems to expect.

Alrighty : after an afternoon of flashing and compiling : no errors !

But damn, I'm still missing two connectors so no movement video yet. I want to see this thing working !

Cool! It's nice to have it basically up and running.

I learned something today. Saw the sonar entry in your update manager and wondered what that was. Hmm...possibly more stable Pi WiFi? Sign me up.

Do you know why I get the american time/date format ? I'm pretty sure I configured my own timezone during install. And is there a way to change it ?

Hmm...  I went through the Mainsail settings and can't find an entry to define the date/time format. However, Fluidd does have it under Settings/General. You can run both side-by-side if you're inclined.

I'm not really inclined to run both but thanks for checking. Maybe there's some low level way to change it, I'll look into it.

Well, it had to happen one day : a moment of inattention with a soldering iron and voilá, one melted connector

Oops! Fortunately that same soldering iron can be made to pay penance by desoldering that connector & soldering in a replacement. 

Aslo...you're directly soldering the fans to the PCB? I would have thought a connector would be preferred. Or is there not room?

I can't use this pcb anymore so I ordered a new one. I'm going to remove this one after marking the wires from the neopixel leds (because they're all black ) and see if I can't fit some sort of connector

Good afternoon. It's been a while, true to the spirit of this blog.

I've started testing now and immediately some problem arises : my A motor doesn't work. Checked the wiring for continuity, tried swapping with B motor, checked working of the stepper with a LED, tried swapping stepper driver, checked pins in printer.cfg.

The motor is working as far as I can tell, just not connected to my Octopus. I hope I haven't fried it.

I hope somebody has a suggestion what else I can try.
