About This File
My printer weighs close to 100lbs and half of that is glass panels. I don't trust current handle designs for that kind of weight but I needed something to make my printer movable. Each one needs 4 screws: 2 x m4-18mm and 2 x m4-10mm along with 4 x m4 t-nuts.
The handle is designed to load the extrusions along the inserted ridges. The screws are mostly there to keep it fully inserted; in fact, the handle clips on the frame and hold there without the screws!
These handles will make it possible for two people to firmly hold the printer and carry it. STL needs to be mirrored to make a proper pair and 2 pairs needed for a full set.
Print settings I used for this:
Layer height 0.25
tops/bottoms 6 <---load bearing!!
walls 4
Wall line width 0.75
infill line width 0.5
infill: lines 15%
NOTE: this handle may not work with the original door hinges when installed on the front extrusions as shown in my pics. Since this was drawn to accommodate my glass enclosure, I also drew some hinges for the glass doors and made sure they are compatible. I will probably post them when I'm done with the doors and know it all works good; look for my other mods
NOTE2 : a lot of people have downloaded this; any comments? does it work with the original hinges?
