found a buffer array for easier spool change, looks interesting as well..

That looks good as well, thanks. Advantage of that is that the spools can be placed just about anywhere.

Update:

Why the hell did I go down this rabbit hole?

Got the new board and all checks up to the encoder check performed without issue. However, the encoder is "dead". Did some testing and it seems I have a dead TRCT5000 sensor. AS I bought this kit almost a year ago, I do not think I have much chance with Funsor on getting a replacement. Not good for them as the kit now has had both a faulty board (new board from Lektor in Spain working as intended) and seemingly a faulty TRCT500 sensor board.

Seems Bugs Bunny will have to wait for the Wabbit!

Another 3 weeks wait - oh the joy. Think it calls for some Scottish support. I hear their single malts are OK

Sure - here it is.

          

Have tested it on the bench.

Checked all connections, re crimped another cable. There is power to the board as you can see,            

but the IR sensor does not trigger.

Not with black and white, only with finger and in the encoder module through:

ERCF_DISPLAY_ENCODER_POS

Value stays at 0, no matter if sensor is triggerred or not.

Will try the black and white when I get home tonight.

Thought it may have been Voltage as the sensor is rated at 5V and it is only getting 3.2V through the Easy Brd. Haven't tested that theory yet.

Also the IR LED does not light up indicating a board failure.  Getting a new TRCT5000 board this evening, I hope - will let you know, either way.

Well, the TRCT 5000 board did not arrive - so much for Express mail. Sending 5V to the board made no difference. Will have to wait till I get the new sensor. Send Funsor a message about the electronics in their kit. Don't expect anything as it has been a year since I ordered and received the kit.

In the interim, I put together the buffer array. (6 spool)

Gone from This:

A major improvement and saving in space.

Now I have lots of spare parts from the original.

Hopefully the sensor will arrive in tomorrows mail.

Well, one of my Voron fans wants me to build one for him, knowing its my first... I will order 2 just in case!
