Trident Build - Partially Self Source

Hi All

So I've been planning to build a Trident for the last year and I now have all the non-printed parts.

I bought some from via BOM links or comparable sources and eventually purchased a partial Magic Phoenix kit to fill-out parts I was missing.

I printed the parts in the image around 10 months ago, so some of the parts are out of date.

I'm also not 100% sure about the colour. This is a ABS filament available in Australia from a company called 3dFillies.

I have some Fillamentum ASA Extrafill in traffic red and black which I could use instead.

Comments?

Like the color combo - nice and bright. The problem we have in Oz is the limited choices when it comes to filament. Probably why I use e-Sun - reasonable variety of colors.

Black and red more traditional Voron colors.

AS the others said, I would vote for Grey and Orange

Color combo looks good to me. I see AB parts, are you going to switch to SB?

Yes, I’ll need to print the SB.

I have a different extruder I want to use.

I also plan to use a canbus board.

Bright, Vivid colours are hard to get in Oz

The frame is black does that affect people’s opinion?

Not mine, I still think it'll be a good colour contrast. Probably better going for clearly differing colours rather than having a nearly-the-same colour and looking like you were trying to match but missed the mark 😉 So black, grey and orange is good in my book.

Ok, well I need to fix my V2.4, the CANBus power wire broke. I'm going to switch to Tap, Umbilical, Orbiter V2 and a carbon tube X rail.

Once that's done I'll start posting images of the prints and start the build.

Should I post somewhere about my V2.4 upgrades? (if so where?)

Personally I would post your 2.4 upgrades as a "Upgraded 2.4" build diary, alternatively if you only want to post pictures there's always the Gallery. Although I favour the build diary approach (gives you a chance to discuss and expound on your upgrades), we're not strict about "it must be a new voron build" in the build diary bit (I'm rebuilding my first V0 and doing that as a diary).

That would be great. Always learn a lot from these .

That sounds like a most brilliant suggestion - I'll second that

Color combo is still good in my opinion. Like @smirk said, better to get clearly deliberate contrasts than a missed-the-mark attempted match. That's why I didn't go for blue accents on my Trident--no way was I going to match the frame color.

I look forward to the upgrade build diary.
