This is nowhere in the manuals. Just verified.

I learned it the hard way - struggling to get the octopus flashed, Had spare boards and none would go to dfu mode, until I decided to flash a board before installing it - Light went on 💡

Since then have been flashing all boards "OFF the PRINTER"

It won't show up with the slush command as it now has a canoe UUID. Make sure klipper is not running:

On the raspi pi:

sudo service klipper stop

then change into the canboot/katapult scripts directory and obtain the UUID through:

cd ~/CanBoot/scripts OR cd~/katapult/scripts
python3 flash_can.py -i can0 -q

Should I not see a Canbus adapter when I do a lsusb?

Sorry misunderstood.

If you have not flashed the board yet after putting it in dfu mode, then you should see the board with the command lsusb. Just make sure klipper is not running on the raspi as this interferes with the lsusb command (Again learned that through hours of struggling trying to get the octopus board show up after being put in dfu mode. You can do this through the mainsail interface if you installed mainsail os, or as a command line in Raspi terminal. Again have nothing connected to the board other than the raspi through the USB cable.

So got the Octopus that was shipped with the kit working. I must have flashed the wrong settings. Use STM32cuber program to flash the board with USB communication. Then was able to set it into DFU again and flashed Octopus with CanBoot and EBB SB 2209 got both IDs. Been trying all day to figure out what I need to fix to clear this error not much online regarding this. Any help would be appreciated. Tried stealthchop_threshold: 999999 but no luck.

isn't "Endstop connected to diag0" uncommented ?

I also think that's the problem.

This error looks like a cryptic message from clipper while parsing the printer.cfg file.

Though I think it would have complained about the line above the uncommented line.

Not a few lines below.

But costs nothing to try @PFarm 🙂

So it turns out that "Endstop connected to diag0" is just a note to be the jumper location. Other settings need to be added to the TMC section. Diag_pin, driver_SGTHRS and interpolate change to True. Got the sensorless homing working on the 2.4 and it works flawlessly when back and looked at the TMC settings and found what needed to be added.

Powered up the electronics today Formbot kit ships with BTT Pi and Octopus 1.1. Still need to get BTT SB2209 connected. Found out that the BTT Pi connects to my wifi when powered up via USB but doesn't when powered up with 24V LED lights up but no wifi. Email sent to Formbot regarding Pi issue.

Reprint of the Z carriages to the Flex mod.

This looks like an interesting mod. Do you have a link to this flex mod? I'm in the process of building right now and would be a good time to integrate something like this.

@PFarm  What's the Formbots leadscrew nut diameter (the part which enters the carriage)? I designed the FLEX carriages around nuts which are 10mm. Let me know and I'll add another version to Github.

I am planning on releasing a flexure mod for the other side of the Trident Z-carriage joint. It would be interesting combining the two!

It's my mistake some bad prints I've printed them in ABS CF and they came out great and fit perfectly.

It's powered-up, sensorless homing was trickier to set up than on the V2 but once the proper settings were inputted it worked flawlessly. Continuing to print the top hat as suggested by @mvdveer. The horizontal drag chain looks like it's going to work out. I'm waiting on the M3 spring t-nuts to install the panel Formbot did supply enough of these for the build. More tuning is planned for today.

This top hat is interesting. Curious to know how it could hold a enraged rabbit carrot feeder.

Definitely a source of inspiration for the v0.2, where the umbilical + reverse bowden always rub against the top panel. Still didn't remove the protective film, waiting for a solution. This is the solution. Most likely.

Building a Tradrack (have most of the parts on hand but ordered what I'm missing) for this one mount will be above the printer both printers are seated on an adjustable wire shelf.. The Bowden tube doesn't rub at all with this top hat trying out this horizontal drag chain setup seems to work well up to now. Two top hat heights are available 35mm and 66mm.

How many hours of printing did you do before performing the input shaper?

Did it before the very first print, then each time I service the printer (tightening screws, belts, etc) Just received the titanium backers for all the printers - once this is installed then will redo input shaping again. Also waiting for the CNC parts to mount the beacon probes, once that's done - will redo input shaping again.

Even minute changes to the printer will affect input shaping, and with it now being built into the toolhead board it Is relatively painless to do. Also with the macros out there to support this function, it is a matter of entering the macro command in the terminal and away she goes.

Got the ERCF for the V2 and the Tradrack with the Trident, going to give this Carrot Quiver Buffer a go. Like the idea that they mount to the back of the printer.

The 609 bearings came in today so I can assemble the top side of the Carrot Quiver Buffer. I used the work clamp to push the bearing flush to the wheel.

As mentioned in the instruction I used a second stacked on top of the first one to push into its final resting place.

I tapped the plastic on both sides of the pin before assembling it inside the top mount.

Did an update on the Trident yesterday that required reflashing Klipper, with Katapult installed it was an easy flash for both the Octopus and the SB2209. Pressing the reset button twice sends the devices in Katapult mode.
