Voron 2.4008 Maintenance and Update

This printer was my second Voron - a self sourced Voron 2.4 300mm build and the build log was titled "Let the journey begin". This section could have been titled - "Let the journey continue"

Time of maintenance came along and I thought whilst I had the printer apart, I may as well update it. Over the past 4 months or so,  I have acquired Chaotic Labs CNC parts (individually), to one day install in the two 2.4r2 Voron's. (Got two of each, but still have to source another Z-Joint kit)

Well the time was now, as The 2.4008 was chewing the X-Axis belt as evident by the frayed belt on closer inspection. And this is the printer that the Turtlebox will be mounted on.

What was done:

Replaced all the 6mm belts (X and Y axis). (In doing so, I found a misalignment of the X-Motor gear on the motor - was about 4mm lower than the corresponding pulley - no wonder the belt got chewed)

Installed the CNC X-Carriage with beacon mount.

Installed the CNC XY- joints

Installed the CNC AB Motor Mounts

Installed the CNC Front Idlers

Installed the CNC Z-Joint Kit

Rerouted the umbilical to exit at the top of the printer

Installed the horizontal Z-Chain

And she is back together. Re-tuned PID, and input shaper. Did a belt comparison and very happy with the results.

Belts:

This journey will never end, that I know, but she is ready to rock and roll:

Very nice!!! Love the color scheme... and Mods.. I see you got two additional fans on each side of the nevermore. Love the door. I think that will be my first Mod. I can't wait to finish mine. Still waiting for the replacement part.

Thanks. 🙂 (I should say SNAP!) This printer served me well for the past 2 and a half years without many mods - let's see how she does the next two and a half with plenty of mods.

It is an exiting journey. The two fans next to the Nevermore are the Ellis bedfans, with their associated macros, The door is the Clicky-Clacky Fridge Door Mod - well worth it and highly recommend it.
