Beacon H - Z-offset

cbix

Question

I just rebuilt my printhead on my Voron 2.4.  I now have StealthBurner, Revo Voron Hot End, Galileo 2, NiteHawk Toolboard, and the Beacon H.

I am just getting used to the Beacon H.  I love most things about it.  What I miss about my klicky probe, however, is that there was a z-offset number in the printer.cfg file that was super easy to make small adjustments to.  If I wanted the first layer to be squished a tiny bit more, then I would just go into the printer.cfg file and change that z-offset value by a few hundredths.

I know I can change the z-offset in my slicer settings, but this printer is used by me along with a fairly large number of students who all have different copies of slicer software on their computers, so it is really helpful to have one central place where I can make small adjustments to the z-offset.

Is there a way to duplicate this with the Beacon H?

Should be possible to do this in PRINT_START macro:

As per the beacon documentation this allows for hotend thermal expansion, thus theoretically by changing this number you should be able to do what you want.

Why don't you just baby step it down as so as the print starts.

That's what I do when printing onto a none textured suface, I send the print, then I go to mainsail and click on the Z-Offest there.

I am going to give this a start.  If this works, this is perfect.  Not only that, but I can do the babystepping thing to figure out exactly what I should set this at.
