Voron Cabinet Filters

Recommended Posts

I thought share my latest finding on my Voron 2.4r2 350 about cabinet filtration and air circulation. I print a lot of ASA objects that require a heated cabinet. Furthermore, I manage to maintain almost 60℃ Celsius (~58℃) with my current setup of 3 mm plexiglass, Clicky-Clack Fridge DooorParametric Panel Latch for 2020 extrusions and Voron using Steel Spring WireRabbit Hole CPAP Blower System and Weather Stripping Door Seal between all panels and door.

Since the beginning of printing ASA, ABS and other VOC emitting filaments, I have equipped all my Voron printers with Nevermore Micro V5 Duo and have replaced the Voron vent with the Rabbit Hole CPAP Blower System. Yhis combination have done pretty good job cleaning and keeping the cabinet nice and warm. Today, I had the bed thermal fuse blow-up (4+ years of use) and when I removed the bed plate I noticed that the Nevermore filter system was heavily warped!

For a while now I have also installed a pair of V2.4-Aire, as one of them can be seen on the top left of the previous image. Also, I stopped operating the existing Nevermore filter as the blower motors where noise; actually after testing it without the covers it was not an issue with the GDSTIME brushless blowers, but the top cover was rubbing on the blower's turbine!

Anyway, I removed the Nevermore system as the V2.4-Aire was as good or better.

Btw. If you want to use multiple fans for a single function as in my case filtration/circulation, you do not need to splice the power cables. As long as you have enough available power source connectors on your MCU, connect each fan to it's own power JST connector and then in your printer.cfg you can combine them as follows:

#####################################################################
# Filter Fans
#####################################################################

pins: PD14,PD15.PE5

#pin: PD14,PD15 Aire Filters (https://github.com/VoronManiac/V2.4-Aire)
#pin: PE5 NeverMore Filter (https://github.com/nevermore3d/StealthMax/tree/main)

Very nice. Thank you for sharing. I use the real hepa filter off the back. I made the 350 500 high. I also use the reworked 1 top for the nevermore v6 with pogo pin connection. Fridge door and R3Men graphite 355x355 bed. I print abs, PC and Nylon. Never smell a thing. Controls the chamber temp from 35-55 dependent on filament in mainsail.

I know it’s supposedly taboo to talk about but I am electronically savvy and comfortable with my skills. But may I ask what you are using as a chamber heater? I am building the one “Noizie Workz” has put the files out for and it’s pretty solid. I just have to find the time to finish putting it together. But I am looking into what others are doing for inspiration.

An old sunlu filament dryer. I took the heater and controll out, fabricated an aluminum holder for the heating element and two fans. It is attached to the bottom back and blows down both sides. Chamber temp is controlled through mainsail.

No extra heaters for me. I used the build-in heater; the bed heater! For the 350 it takes about 15 to 20 minutes to reach 50℃, taken by the nozzle thermistor in the middle of the cabinet space. Anyway, unless I am in a hurry, I leave it heating up for about 30 minutes to heat soak anyway.

That’s how I do my 300 voron. Thanks for replying! Just curious of what others are doing.
