Currently researching converting a home built mash up of a VKing Pro and SecKit Go into a 2.4 R2.  Don't really want to re-purchase all the 2020 frames and linear rails.

Unfortunately the existing 2020 is V Slot and the Rails are MGN 12

@Ducky4546 was able to modify some of the carriage pieces to fit MGN12 rails. I'm pretty sure they are the same between the Trident and the V2.4 gantry. Maybe he would be willing to share the files.

Also, the MGN12 rails are plenty wide enough to span V-slot 2020 profile so that shouldn't be a problem. The RatRig V-Minion uses MGN12 on V-slot profile as well. The flying gantry will just have a little more mass..

I don't see that being an issue, it basically the setup on some of my printers, as @atrushing has pointed out there are mods for the MGN12 carriages out there.

 

It'll be fascinating to see a build diary of the conversion and follow along with it.
