Hi!

I have a Voron 2.4 running Octopi. It works fine, has done for several years. My problem is that my Python is out of date, so I need to upgrade it. The recommended method is to fire up the Voron and use the backup option. Then create a new instance of Raspian on a fresh sd card, with Octopi set up. Insert new sd, and restore. Easy.....

I have done this several times now, with the same disappointing result.

I have got as far as putting in the fresh sd disk into the Raspi with Raspian/octopi setup on it, and using the backup/restore option to restore from the dowloaded backup file on my computer. It does a (very quick) restore, and puts me back into the Octopi screen (in browser on computer) where I can connect. I try to connect but Raspi will not apparently find the printer. The lights do not come on like they usually do which is ominous... 

I look in Octoprint settings in the Serial connection section, and whereas while using the original sd disk (original working sd disk) in 'Serial port' it says '/tmp/printer', with the new sd disk it does not, it offers only  'Auto' or  '/dev/ttyACM0'. I put '/tmp/printer' into the 'Addnl serial ports' window, put this does not transfer into the Serial port box as a connection option. So, I assume because of this, it cannot connect?

What am I missing?

Hi,

Does your printer run Klipper? If so, you'll need to reinstall Klipper with https://github.com/dw-0/kiauh then configure OctoPrint to look at /tmp/printer
