Hello everyone, thanks for welcoming me into the group.  I became interested in 3D printing about 15 years ago when my two sons came home from middle school one day and said, 'Hey Dad, we need to get a 3D printer!"  I sent them out to earn enough money each to pay 1/3 of the cost of a wood-framed early-stage maker-bot printer and I kicked in the other 1/3 of the cost.  Since then, we haven't looked back.  We joined a local maker space where we participated in a couple of 'build groups' where we assembled a T-max and a no-name printer designed by one of the makerspace members.  Since then, my sons have both earned degrees in mechanical engineering and are off the family payroll earning a living in occupations that include a lot of 3D printing.  That 1/3 share in the good old maker bot has turned out to be one the best investments I've ever made!  I retired about a year prior to the Covid pandemic and upped my interest in 3D printing during that time.  I've built 3 RatRig printers and am now dipping my toe into the world of Voron.  I've assembled a Voron 0.2 kit from LDO and am in the final stages of building a Voron 2.4 ver D kit from LDO.  In addition to building printers, I enjoy designing and making gadgets for one of my other interests, amateur radio. These objects include antennas, antenna rotators, wire winders, rope winders and on and on...   I'm looking forward to learning more about Voron printers and participating in this forum.

Welcome to the forum, I'm retired as well, and I'm interested in 3D printing and CNC machines. Building and modifying our equipment is addictive, and we have a group of addicts in here!
