Camper Printer

I've been travelling with a 3d printer for the past 4 years. Meet Stumpish (I name all my printers), a belted, very short (300x300x105) Trident. Built specifically to fit in the "basement" storage of my fifth wheel. Since I print almost exclusively in ABS, I added an exhaust system to it. This spring, on a two month trip, I used 3 KG of filament.

We are currently 2 weeks into a 3 month trip. This is Stumpish's sixth trip with us, entertaining me and solving many problems along the way.

I started traveling with Baby (can't find a picture...), a standard v0.1 back in 2022, but the first failure I had to deal with was too large to print on the 100x100 bed. (I sent the file to my brother, he printed it for me on his 2.4 and FedEx-ed it to me! Thanks, James!) That's when I built Stumpish. We run a generator as we drive, so I can, in theory, print while driving. But no need to do that so far.

@TitusADuxass That's awesome; for people don't know what is it, tell them it is an ice-cream cone maker!

Is that a FIAT Ducato?

I have a 2017 RAM Promaster, bought new, that re-bagged to a FIAT; they are the same van with different engines. Btw the OEM front roof truck lights leaked the 1st year, that's another story, and I made replacement LEDs out of ASA with F360. They replacement ASA housings have not leaked since 2018!

Sorry for hi-jacking the tread but that was my 1st ASA project with the Voron 2.4 300x300 (version 1) and it still "working" in real life 😎

Yes it is a Fiat Ducato (Bj 2015), it's git the 3,0l Iveco 180ps motor. We don't have those funny lights over here.

That's exactly mine concern, the v0 bed is a little too small. I do like the Stumpy, I think I may have found another project.

Yah! The roof lights are to prevent UFO collisions, and they also used to be an interior water feature when it rained. 😂🤣😅

My engine is the Pentastar V6 3.6L 276 HP.

@TitusADuxass have a great vacation!

Good deal, now I know I am not the only one who has thought about this.  Right after finishing the 0.2, I had a week long camping trip.  I sooo wanted to bring it with me and just run off parts for my Voron update.   Now that I know this is not uncommon, I am bringing it in September when we go.   I could get so many parts run off and maybe even a few cool brackets and such for the camper.

This is what we call home when we camp, which is frequently now that I am semi-retired.

What's the overall height of Stumpish?

Did you just reduce the height of the vertical extrusions?

TIA
