Printer Loses Z Offset

Recommended Posts

What would cause the printer to lose the Z offset? Changed the screen bracket on the V2 restarted the printer and started a print only the nozzle etched the outline of the print into the plate. Rebooted the printer and all is good ⁉️

I had a similar issue once. It was because the quad gantry level failed. As my startup code did not evaluate the result of the QGL the nozzle crashed into the bed using wrong z-offset.

If you have the klipper log files (can be found in /tmp/ as klippy_<PRINTERNAME>.log) you can search for "quad" or "tolerance" to check if QGL was successfull.

BTW: What are the "screen brackets" (I do not know that)

Regards

Stefan

There's no reason for this to happen,  it's happened to me as well.
