Forgive me, but this is the ones im using the y and x..  It says Signal Ground and V+, at the top it says G, NO and NC.

Maybe I am reading this wrong.. I know the board side is correct, there are only 2 spots for G and S and I am only using 2 wires..

I am dumb, figured it out.  Was so worried about voltage running through endsop.

Fixed it.

Sorry about this, I figured it out.  Just didnt want to burn out my board as it took weeks to get here.. thank you so much for your patience.

Nothing wrong with being cautious.FYI, all of the endstops are octocoupled, which means if they're protected from a short in the circuit, the circuit is protected from shorting the board. It uses a diode to prevent voltage/current from running in the wrong direction.

My Z endstop is acting up, for some reasons, it uses a diff one than the rest, forget this headache, Ill get wait till tomorrow and get the same ones for it..  Originally did not plan to have a z endstop but, implemented one temporarily till I can design a piece that incorporates it better.

Humm something just happened.. Now getting an error..

I am getting an error that says:

Warning: Driver 0.2 warning: phase A may be disconnected, phase B may be disconnected

This happened after my right side of my cnc was not straight with left and homed, which resulted in it stopping before thitting endstop..  I isolated the code that discusses .02 I am not sure which motor this is..

Is that the second Y?

You posted this earlier in the thread, is this the settings in drive.g? If so the second Y drive has been configured.

Or did you add the second Y drive in user-config.g?

; Secondary Y in drive 3

Tell me something, I have the y endstop setup.  It will stop BOTH y's right?

Yes, if configured correctly. When testing the drives, make sure you're ready to hit the e-stop if something goes wrong.

Grr.. this issue with the 2 y motors not moving correctly is back.. endstop definitely works and it moves off 5mm then goes back.. frustrating.

Something is wrong.. So to see what happens, I swapped the motor ports, the left to the right and vice versa and the issue happens on the other side.

That means the motors are not the issue.. What on earth could be causing this issue..

Something is definitely off.  I rebooted, I also set my setting from 32 to 16 on the Y.  Its working now correctly, but how can that be the cause?

At 32 microsteps, the motors are moving too fast for your ballscrew, is my take on it.

  • I noticed that my nema 23 motors say this:  200 Steps or 1.8 degrees per Step

Isnt 16 microsteps used for 200/1,8 degrees?

I just ran like 10 tests.. works fine now.. as long as I have it at 16..

The default for the Scylla is 32 microsteps because it's anticipated that the steppers will be running at a higher voltage, which gives the stepper more speed and torque. I assume you're supplying 24V to the steppers? Nothing wrong with running them at 16 microsteps.

Right now I have a 24v hooked up to the board.  Yes.  I have the motors running at 2.6amps (someone had mentioned lowering it a bit).  They are rated for 2.8.

Yeah you don't want to run them at their max amperage. Try 2.5

The Z endstop is temporary, it serves the purpose of setting up the machine.  I will be cnc'ing a piece for the endstop and top.  This is my 2nd cnc I have built, first one was very basic.. This one is more complex 😄

Very nice build. Years ago, I bought parts to build that type of CNC machine, but I never got around to building it. When I saw the Milo come together, I knew I had to build one.

Are you going to run a spindle or a router for your Z?

I see a Spool3d sticker. Are you in Western Canada?

Hello again.

I plan to use a router, its easier for now, and I have 2 new ones from other projects.  They work okay, I do not do anything crazy.  I actually have a Milo 1.5 I need to build :S..  Im in Ontairo.  Thats an old enclosure I had from 2015..

@real1st Cool that I'm helping a fellow Canadian but also a fellow Ontarian! I'm in Cornwall, a 1-hour drive to Ottawa. Please post your Milo build in our build section when you get it started. We love to follow along. Is it an LDO kit? What are your plans for the electronics? Jake England has put together an electronic box, an alternative to stuffing the electronics under the Milo.
