Picked up a Milo V1.5 Kit...

As the title states, I picked up a Milo V1.5 110v US Kit from Hector at Fabreeko last week while I was in Fort Lauderdale during the holidays.

Here we are getting scorched by the afternoon sun, Milo is in the trunk with Steve Builds old Subaru that Hector bought from him in the background.

Awesome guy, he gave me a full tour of his very impressive shop and warehouse. A number of things he sells he makes himself on a HAAS H2 mill and laser.

I have to finish up my Voron 2.4 refurb first then I start on the Milo. Of course, there will be a build diary so stay tuned. I'm going to build a bone stock Milo at this point (famous last words, I know) if I do anything it will most likely be chip/swarf management related. I'll be printing parts in anticipation of the build. When I get those going I'll start a diary.

Cheers everyone,

Hope you had an awesome holiday!

  • If I need to order from a US supplier it's my favorite shop!

  • LOL. "Famous Last Words" yup I'll believe it when I see it! Can't wait to see what your going to model for your Milo. Looking forward to following your build. Welcome to the Milo club Pete! 😉

Cheers everyone,

Hope you had an awesome holiday!

A stock Milo runs on 110V.

TBH, I initially thought there was only 220v versions available like a number of live stream builders got but to my surprise they were selling 110v kits.

Fabreeko and West3D sell the 110v kit for $999.99 USD w/o printed parts, I'm guessing others in the US sell for the same. The price was right, and I was in the neighborhood, so I took the bait.

A bone stock Milo - I'm sorry,  but given your track record that's not going to happen.

Hahahaha... Busted!

I'm already downloading STL's that Steve Builds modded.

I think I'm going to go with Overture Diamond Grey ABS for the black parts and maybe a dark orange for the colored parts. Just having fun at this point.

You may consider printing these mounts instead

I agree, however I got the aluminium mounts.

@mvdveer Did you have to drill and re-tap the mounts or drill the Z plate?

Not as far as I recall, as they are attached to the Z-Plate with alu angle brackets. (I may have offset these to fit the holes in the Z-Plate. Not home at present so can't go and look.

Thanks @PFarm. I'm not in any hurry at the moment and the filament cost or time to print isn't a factor.

Plus... I like the printed spindle mount. It makes it look more... finished.

I have started printing some parts though. I guess it's time I opened the boxes and started a build diary. 😃

Enjoy your build Pete unlike a printer build it seems to come together pretty quickly.
