Hello - New to Voron Community

Hello,

I am an Electrical Engineer that has been 3D printing for ~3 years. I started with an Ender 3 S1 Pro and quickly added Klipper and a part cooling mod upgrade with 5015 fans.

I built a Hadley Telescope to enjoy with my kids which led me to desire bigger and better 3D printers. Attempting to build an OnStep tracking mount.

Recently, I purchased an 300mm LDO Voron Trident. I have been slowly working on upgrading filtering/venting. I have added the Clicky Clacky Door Mod (Unfortunately in PETG for now). I am currently printing the vent modification from TeamFDM. Once venting is "good enough", I plan on printing a Nevermore and then venture into ABS/ASA/Nylon.

Despite some scripting experience, I am overwhelmed with Klipper Macros at the moment. Currently, parsing through jschuh repo of advanced scripts trying to figure out how to work the quirks from Cura and get lighting and settings by filament type. I would eventually like to eliminate almost all slicer settings to reduce the amount of re-slicing and optimize pressure advance, fan control, temp, bed temp, etc. settings per filament type.

I hope this community can help on this new adventure. Thanks for having me.

Hello @dramx401 and a hearty welcome to teamfdm. I am sure there will be someone to render assistance should you need it. Looks like a great build that. PetG should be fine for the door - must say, it is one of the last mods I made to my printers but well worth it and love it. Looking forward to sharing your adventure.

Just don't ask me about macro's - still cannot get my head around those!

Welcome to the forum! You found the right place for help, ask away!

Nice printer project. You can't go wrong with an LDO Trident. Not that I'm biased or anything...

I figured if I'm gonna do it, I should just do it right from the start! 😆

I ditched jschuh repo. Was a little tough to follow. Removed it from the Klipper install and then installed Klippain.

After uncommenting the correct configuration files, it is seemingly working well. Besides slamming the print head once due to X & Y motors being reversed! Also found a pinout issue in his config that swapped the part cooling and hotend fan.

Not too bad and on my way. Previously ran vibe profiles, but will probably tune once more.
