Tronxy Steppers

Recommended Posts

I've got 5 SL42STH40-168A-23 steppers from the Tranyx that I stripped down - are they any good?

They have a different build format as my other Nema17s - they are only 38mm tall as opposed to 48.

I was thinking about using them for my Voron 0.1 triple Z upgrade.

I am using some 20mm Nema 17s from StepperOnline for the triple belted Z on my Vorpal 180 and they can handle 50mm/sec without any problems with the current set at 0.5 amps. The bed on the small printers don't weigh enough to require large stepper motors. I don't know about the quality of the Tronxy motors, but I think they should be fine.

These are in my VZBot and working very well.  (Oh yes, I remember now, the VZ it started life as a TronXy5 😄).

Nothing wrong with the motors , except NOISY compared to moons or LDO.
