Can't find bed mesh macro

WillyM

Question

During the commissioning of my 2.4, I have been trying to set up adaptive bed meshing with Klicky. I'm aware that Klipper now has this built in, but I followed the instructions to just get the adaptive purging and parking. However, whenever the machine sees a bed mesh command e.g. clear or calibrate, it says command unknown. There is also no Heightmap option showing on the interface. What am I missing here?

Did some more research and found that my printer config was missing information for bed mesh. Added some lines (mesh parameters) and now the height map shows up. When I try a bed mesh calibrate, it doesn't pick up the Klicky probe and says probe triggered before movement. It must see the switch closed as being triggered, and not like it I guess. I'll continue on the voyage of discovery....

A good first check would be to use the 'Sync' button on the Machine tab while manually pressing the switch to see if it changes state within the Mainsail interface. This should help to verify that everything else is correct.

Under the [probe] section of your printer.cfg, you might just need to add (or remove) "!" before the pin name in order to invert the 'triggered' state of the switch, i.e. !PB7.

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the Sync button. However I know that the Klicky switch is good as it completes QGL with no problems.

Problem solved. My Klicky was activating during the move to the first sample point. My horizontal z was set too low.  Increasing it to 10 allowed me to complete my first full bed mesh.
