I want to download and print some Voron 2.4 510mm

Recommended Posts

I have searched the Voron Design website and Github. So far I have found some parts ie front skirts.

What would be great is a complete 2.4 Assembly for 510mm version, because I currently have a 510mm Hellbot Magna 2 heated table and I can only find a project for a maximum of 350mm.. I can download and import into Onshape CAD package.

If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

First, welcome to the forum!

There is no official 510mm version of any Voron. The 2.4 (and Trident) have 250, 300, and 350 versions released. However, all the CAD is available on the Github so you can modify what is needed to build your own custom sized printer. Off the top of my head, I think the only printed parts that would need modification are the skirts. Otherwise, it's just adjusting the extrusion lengths, wire lengths, and drag chain lengths (correct me if I'm wrong everyone). If you use the Voron Configurator you can specify a custom size and it will calculate at least the extrusion sizes for you.

Thanks for the tip, I'm evaluating the project.

I have a V0.2, not a V2.4, so I'm maybe not the best resource, but I seem to recall that you can most easily increase skirt sizes on V2.4 and Trident in 50mm units, to match 250/300/350.  So maybe you could go out to 500mm or 550mm and make it work.  I'd look at the CAD to see how much existing space there is on the sides for doo-dads like nozzle scrubbers, maybe you can steal some back for your plate.  Or go to 550mm to add additional space for side doo-dads.

OTOH, that's maybe a bit big for a default Voron build.  You might want to check the Doomcube discord to see what's up with beefier extrusions and the like.  Or hold out for the Legacy release.

You will not find a verion larger than 350mm.  But the Fusion360 CAD file is available.  You would need to go in and change the dimensions.  In fact that is the ONLY way you can be sure a 510mm version would work.

That said, 350mm is the largest practical size without need to make significant changes.  for one I'd replace the 2020 exrusions with 2040 or even 4040 as the frame needs to be stiffer.  Also, you might find the Z motors are not strong enough for the added gantry weight.

510 does not seem that much larger but it is just past the largest recommended size, you really should go into the CAD files and change stuff, not just make some of the 2020 extrusions longer.
