For my friend @mvdveer - new project? Blobifier

Nice. I had also seen a few projects to optimize the filament cutting and changing to the next filament.

Things I remember @mvdveerhas put hundreds of hours to tune on his first project before he stored it.

I think in this optimization process you can add a few more projects to look at. I know  @sakitume has listed a few on his Filament Cutters subpage, I also saw one he was working on himself.
I like the simplicity of Ejection Assisted Purge. and the ERCF Filament cutter.

This one looks very slick. I am wondering which one @mvdveer will recommend 🙂

The Blobifier...

Just ran into this, love it, its clearly the idea from Bambu, but its not bad at all! next to your filament cutter?

nee nee niet meer alsjeblieft mijn vriend. 😆

Saw this a when I initially researched the filament cutters. The cutter at the ERCF end seemed more complicated at the time than the Filametrix. Currently doing maintenance on the Trident 300. Added the aluminium backers, Filametrix with 2 x toolhead sensors and cartographer probe. Just finished running a couple of test prints and busy going through the Ellis guide to tune.

Next I will add the one of the Trad Rack's to this printer. The ERCF v2 will go on the Voron2.4 350mm build once I get that in for maintenance.

I might consider this for that project @Dirk

(maar begin mij niet ook te verleiden 😄)

I hope the to-do-list printer projects, are not as pressing as the people sitting in your waiting room 😄 Those to-do list points are there to make things easier for you. And I do not believe the printers will complain, since the longer you wait, the better upgrades they will receive..

Think of it, half a year ago you would have given them all a TAP. Now they all receive Beacons, IDMs and Cartographers 😄

So in my opinion, the longer your list, the better 😉

Hi All, the new kid on the block here - Joe,

Has anyone played with the Blobifier X V2 yet.   I just printed two X-V2 bodies and the bottom Blob Plate holder via MakerW. There's a couple of parts and trying to figure out.  The T5 Leadscrew on the V2 calls for an 83mm lenght, where as the X (V1.0) calls out a 40mm- which I ordered not knowing I was going to tackle the V2 😞

I built up my Trident, and now rebuilding my 2.4 (Changing to CAN). I'm almost finished with my Armored Turtle, so everything can be setup in one swoop.(Fingers crossed)

Thank you and the great community for the support and courage you all provided me.  I hope I can repay it to others.

Here's  a pic of the top and bottom pieces for the Blobifier X V2 version.  With the V2 there's a change of motor - Xuanyuanss replaced the 28BYJ-48 with a 36 BMG stepper motor.  In my pictures the prints are upside down, but you can see the BMG Stepper shape in the second pic (xx07) - mounts on top.  I hope it will provide more power/speed  (An online 3D parts seller review I read of the V1, had a comment in which a buyer stated he felt as it the motor didn't have enough power.

What has me in all this, is what exactly is driving the BMG stepper - it looks like a modified TMC2209.  More to follow as soon as I learn more.

Pretty good looking parts. Now I'm going to be the nitpicky jerk. 😜 Looks like your top layers are over extruding and you have some VFAs; just a couple of tuning processes will make those go away. Input Shaping will handle the VFAs (see here). Then the Ellis Tuning Guide will walk you through the top layer tuning.

Claudermilk,  No,  it's highly welcome!  TYVM,  funny,  as I was posting those pics, I saw the artifacts and thought maybe it's time to dive into my input shaping.  Very glad you spotted the over extruding top layer - Man, it's really a mess when magnified.

The VFAs are my fault for not following thru with the tuning. I was so excited to finally start printing that I was printing tons of trinkets for my wife to bring to work (Lots of fidget/stress toys, animals,  and those damn Ducks!!. I hadn't take time out for my neglected printer, and tune properly her.  Good news I printed up my V2.4 and now converting to CAN Bus, adding my Filamatrix, GE2, and an Armored Turtle as well.

I plan to follow thru with the Ellis Tuning Guide on this build - I promise.  I just have to find a way to hide my color prints from my wife. 😆

looking at the Blobifier "X" V2 Gearing,  it goes from a BMG 36 Stepper to a Leadscrew somehow.  I think I'm missing something on Xuanyuanss BOM.  On the print it appears to me that the BMG-36 stepper motor sits on top the print, aside/next to the Leadscrew, and that's held in place with 2-3 MR85zz bearings - but I'm at amiss as to what the part is that meshes with the BMG-36 gears - I see a M4 leadscrew, but what connects to the leadscrew that has gear teeth to mesh up with the motor?    If anyone comes across the mystery part I'd be thankful.  I printed up all three versions of the Blobifier so I'll be set for now.  I have to be missing something?  If I wait another week Costco will have my glasses in <sigh>
