I saw that video a while back and thought it was pretty cool. Since I already have a Spacemouse Enterprise, I don't need to build one, but I'm interested to see how it works for you.

I'm looking at that myself. The Orbion was a challenge, and worked for a bit--but something failed in the hardware and it's dead now.  This one looks like a better, simpler design. Maybe a first print project for the V0.2.

I ordered all components to build an ORBION 2.5 already months ago, but never started it.
Unfortunately the designer does not actively support the project and community since many months now. However, there are a still some active users on his discord.

And on discord there is also an discussion about other DIY space mouse variants. There are actually many around. One very advanced solution is the CADDeck:

 That CADDeck looks like a DIY knockoff of the 3dconnexion Spacemouse Enterprise. I'm intrigued, maybe a project for next year.
