Heater pad

Recommended Posts

I'm nailing down the last bits of the BOM to order, and came up against a question on the bed heater pads. I see there's two options available now on many of them: the standard sourcing guide part, and the fancy "Fermio style" pads. The latter being a bigger pad covering the entire spec bed plate with notches cut for mounting hardware. For example, on my 250 Trident build, it's these options: Keenovo 200mm 500W 110V @$40 vs Keenovo 240mm 300W 120V w/ 150C TStat @$56. First, is the additional cost worth it? Next I note the lower power rating, will that make a difference?

Both will work, however the larger with cutout will provide a more consistent heat throughout the entire bed, being lower wattage it will take a bit more team to heat the bed, but, again will be more consistent.

If it was my baby, I would invest in the 240mm 300W version over the high wattage but smaller 500W version. Obviously, both will work.
