Filmanet buffering question but don't want to hijack anyone's thread

No upgrade and I am just powering it.

I'm just using the buffer with power as well. However, I think it's still beneficial to have the latest firmware installed because the firmware isn't just about the filament runout sensor and loading and unloading via a macro. The firmware also adds improvement/s to the automatic functions internal to the unit.

Understood and its great advice. If I can get the system I am using to utilize these buffers I will definitely take the next step and update them. I really had it in my mind that when the buffer sensed "tension" it would run out some filament, didn't even imagine that the buffer sends filament till it senses resistance. I get why it works that way, its jut going to take a rework on my setup.  The buffer is strong enough to pull the filament which is awesome. Thanks again for all your help and I was pretty damn self satisfied when I got the crimps to work thanks to your efforts.
