Orca Slicer cannot open "Exported Sliced File"

I want to save a "project" that includes filament changes at specific layers applied at the "Preview/Slicing" step.

Saving a project does not save the sliced information, as I had used to do with PruseSlicer and SuperSlicer.

So I tried the "Export Plate Sliced File" function, but Orca cannot open this file and gives an error "No Geometry"!!!!

Any thoughts/solution on the above?

I have already created the "PAUSE" commands for the layers where I need to make the filament changes and I can generate the Gcode to print it; as I have done already.

The problem is how to save with Orca the information for PAUSE at the same layers, so I can "Open" the 3mf file, slice it with the existing PAUSE locations and print without having to re-create the PAUSE points.

If I just save it as a Project it looses all the PAUSE information. With PRUSASlicer and SuperSlicer the PAUSE infromation are saved to the "Project" file 3mf format.2025-08-25_17h21_37.thumb.jpg.bbac9826abe0c298b81df0b4952c8d5d.jpg

Strange. I just did a quick test and "Export Sliced File" works for me with the pauses.

I have noticed that if I use "open project" it imports correctly with pauses, but if I "Import" the 3mf file it shows the error of no geometric data

Thank you!

Is it "Export Plate Sliced File" or just "Export Sliced File"?

I will try it.

@mvdveer It does not work yet. The interesting part is the same 3mf file from the "Export plate sliced file" operation could not be opened by PRUSAslicer 2.9.2 either. I think I hit another ORCA bug ...... Still "we" pushing PRUSASlicer team to bring back a future that is removed two versions ago, Toolhead clearance area is not shown anymore when moving objects on bed #14240 so ORCA it is for now.....

Unfortunately, I am not a software developer and cannot do anything about these .... annoyances 🤪

There is a new alpha version released which is what I used.

I got the alert from Orca last time I launched it. A couple of the new features are really interesting, but I figured I'd wait a week or so until it gets to beta.

Have you found any glaring issues with the alpha version?
