This is an early announcement regarding Millennium Machines Milo V1.6, an upgrade to Milo V1.5. The official release of V1.6 will follow the official release of the Milo V2 and Miley all coming very soon.

Features from the Milo V2 have been implemented into Milo V1.6. Purchases of additional parts have been kept to a minimum using the existing V1.5 parts. There is an upgrade to ballscrews if you so desire.

Feature/Changes:

  • Two mounting plates are used to mount the spindle to the Z column. This makes tramming much easier.
  • Tramming aid tool
  • New X/Y mounting plate
  • A thrust bearing is used in the bearing blocks of the axis
  • A new floating bearing assembly with the 608ZZ bearing
  • Z motor mount is now direct drive
  • New Z bearing block
  • Drag chains have been routed from the rear of the Z column
  • New Y-axis bearing block
  • New Y motor mount
  • Y Y-axis way covers
  • New Y-axis hold-down printed parts
  • Y axis homes toward the Z column
  • New antibacklash nut assembly, still uses the brass TR8 inserts, and a spring washer is added to the assembly
  • As mentioned, ballscrews are available

Watch Jake England on YouTube put a Milo V1.6 together for the first time.

I'll be upgrading my Milo to V1.6 and will document it in here.
