WIFI connection -> to Raspberry PI5 issue

Hi all,

I recently installed a new Raspberry PI5 in my Trident but can't establish a wifi connection to it. Plugged in via LAN it all works as expected.

I used the Raspberry PI installer to install OS Lite 64bit to the sd card, with all the relevant wifi details, ssh enabled etc.

I see no IP address for the PI when powered on, either through the router or with and ip scanner. If I plug the PI in via LAN cable the IP address is available.

Have I forgotten to do something? All was working fine (wifi related) with the PI3 B+ before.

If it’s anything like the pi4 the wifi signal is really bad, particularly if you have any sort of case or heatsinks attached. 
I don’t think they updated the wifi module for 5.

First thing I would check is if it works ok close to the router.

Thanks Interslice2000. I do have a heat sink and fan attached to the pi5.

I'm guessing the issue had something to do with my router. I recently switch internet service providers, and router. Afterwards I re - install all the necessary software on the PI5 and everything work as advertised. Up and running again!
