Why does this happen while slicing.

I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here but I am having a hard time getting this to work.  I have run the model through an online stl repair tool and it is good but when it slices there are missing gaps.  The file is attached.

You might want to run the .stl through a repair program like Meshmixer. I have seen similar issues with a non-manifold mesh. The slicer tries to auto-repair the mesh but if it is in bad shape then it can create some bizarre features.

If you can upload the .stl here (or provide a link) I could check the mesh in Blender..

If it is a file you found on the Internet, a *lot* of those have errors as described above.  Use Meshmixer if on Windows, Meshlab if on Linux.
