Doron Velta - it begins

I've started on the DV today.

I made a spreadsheet listing all the STLs and downloaded the STLs.

 

The first parts are already on my v2.4. I was going to use both the v2.4 and the Vz330 but I managed to fry the SHT36 (see my vz330 build thread).

This is going to be a slow burner as it's sommer and there's camping to be done.

Camping is important. Get some time to disconnect from the tech for a while. I just got my family's reservations in for next month's trip (finally).

Apropos: Instagram just fed me this one: "People who camp will say to your face 'it's fun' then tell you a story about how they had to fight a raccoon at 2am"  Of course the comments were filled with hilarious stories about raccoons at camping trips. The best one being about the passed-out drunk ones that stole a spiked pineapple.

Nice! I remember you mentioning building a Doron Velta. That looks like a super fun if not challenging build.

So far this year I've done:

3 weeks in France - drove about 3000 km. Went to Troyes, Orleans, Limoges, Carcassonne,  Palavas-les-Flots, Orange, Pont du Gard, Uzes, Lyon & Strasbourg. 

1 week on the Baltic Sea Coast and a bit of Poland

1 week on the med coast in Italy

You could see I got well and truly disconnected. 

Now the public holiday season is over and it's back to work and 3D Printing.  I've got to knock up a rearview camera mount for my camper.

Quite a nice part of Poland in summer- we are heading there for 3 weeks to visit friends for the kids school holidays this summer! The Baltic sea is getting surprisingly warm these days - well not South Pacific warm but warm for the Baltic! Last summer we managed to get some kayaking through the centre of Gdansk so that is on the cards again this year. Polish wife so it is a bit of a compulsory trip!

Is this the Fysetc Doron Velta Kit or self sourced?

@lawson.brian It's Fystec kit, which means that it will have the cheapest of components. I had to replace a lot of the bit in the Voron 0.1 kit I bought from them. 

I only went to Świnoujście and Dziwnów, I was a bit disappointed - it all looked the same. Beautiful white sand beaches that went on for miles.

The Baltic was very Baltic when I dipped my toe in it, I'll stick to the med and the Adriatic.
