Orca Slicer Issues?

Well I started migrating my printers to Orca Slicer from PRUSA Slicer, which I have use for more than 5 years with a few times using SuperSlicer.

I use a lot the "Compare Profiles" tool in PRUSA Slicer when I create a new eg. filament profile. So I tried the same option with Orca but the results are .....

The Fan speeds are not specified, which is what (min/max)?

Then I noticed values do not pass properly from the actual profile, or I am missing something in the configuration?

My bed temperatures are set to 60 deg. for both filaments, but the Compare Perimeters showed as 45 and the other Filament showed as 0!!!!

Help!

What version of Orca are you on? Current is 2.3.0.

I just looked at this on mine & checked an ABS vs PLA profile. Bed temps came up correct on each, and fan speeds looked ok (it was showing me Min fan speed thresholds which were different). I'm guessing those two lines are min fan speed threshold and max fan speed threshold.

Next step is I would look at each profile & see what those settings are actually set to.

That's really weird!

I just re-checked it and still shows the wrong values. A thing is picking the softening temperature; at least that's the only other temp. it matches the display.

Version is 2.3.0; below I put the built version too.

Something is not working with my installation because using the same values some prints from Orca are horrible. An example is trying to run the calibrations within Orca. Flow Control Pass 1 printed as expected. The "0" tile was almost perfect, as expected using values from PS. After resetting the Project in Orca created and tried to print Pass 2 and most of the printed tiles looked horrible; the nozzle is scraping some layers other points is over-extruding, even the "0" tile that printed perfectly at Pass 1.

Thanks for checking.

Are you using Windows or Mac?

I open a ticket on the Orca's Github so they know too.

Well, that will be a mystery because I was working with the profiles as far as I remember, and I assigned a colour to the filament profile and when re-checked the "Compare" now as far as I can tell they looked as they should......

Anyway, thank you for checking it. Hopefully, there are not any major bugs that can damage the printer(s).

Sidenote, it blows my mind how demanding users have become with open source projects. We pay NOTHING but still we demand from the developers to fix "our" bug tomorrow!!!

I remember the days, working with SGI, Sun etc. and we open support cases on major bugs and if they are fixed within six months, we had a party 😅
