Slicer settings for a CPAP with Air Blower WS7040 setup.

Recommended Posts

I have upgraded my Voron 2.4r2 350 mm with an Air Blower WS7040/CPAP combination (more info. at Voron 2.4r2 350 mm getting serviced & updated aka "Rabbit Hole").

After some re-designing, I have a very, very powerful cooling system and if I use the "recommended" Klipper part fan settings and "standard" Slicer fan settings it probably blows the part off the bed!

At this moment, I had set up printer.cfg as follows to slow done the part fan:

#####################################################################
#     WS7040/CPAP Part Fan
#####################################################################
[fan]
pin: PA8
max_power: 0.5
shutdown_speed: 0
cycle_time: 0.005
hardware_pwm: False
kick_start_time: 0.1
off_below: 0.0375

How you guys using CPAP with WS7040 turbo blowers set up your Klipper Parts fan and what fan settings are you using with your Slicer for PLA?

Cheers!

Nikos

For my CPAP setup I just have it setup as a normal part cooling fan in the printer config. Max power of 1.0 and all. In slicer I set the fan speeds accordingly. I’ve found a max of 30% to be great for 90% of printing.

Many thanks @Xiar for the info. It makes sense; I thought I was doing something wrong, as I have never seen and heard before that much air coming out of the parts fan!

I'm just getting my 2nd test print, Voron test cube, and I cranked it to 200% speed. The display shows almost steady 400mm/s with burst to 900 mm/s 😅 but the cube overhangs, letters etc are the sharpest I have ever printed. That's nuts!

I guess too much air is never enough, paraphrasing Billy Idol. 🤣😂
