BTT Octobus max 1.0

Hello,

I have a BTT octobus max 1.0 and the problem is that I can't activate the end stop. I can enter it in the print.cfg to open or close it but that has no effect on the switch on the X-Y axis. Maybe someone knows what the cause is.

I suspect a connection issue as per your diagram. Pin definitions as per the diagram are: Pin, GND, 5V. You have connected 5V to pin and pin to 5Von MIN1. Pin is correctly connected on Min2. (That is assuming red = 5V, Black = GND and Blue and Yellow are pin connections)

Swap 5V and Pin connections on Min1

Hello,
Thanks for the quick reply. Now I have swapped the GND (SW) with the X cable (R) but that would be wrong because on the motherboard the order would be PF0(GND)-G(X)-5V and next to it PF2-G(Y)-5V. I am sending an excerpt in the printer.cfg.

# Motor-1
[stepper_x]
step_pin: PC13
dir_pin: PC14
enable_pin: !PE6
microsteps: 16
rotation_distance: 40
endstop_pin: PF0
position_endstop: 0
position_max: 200
homing_speed: 50

# Motor-2
[stepper_y]
step_pin: PE4
dir_pin: PE5
enable_pin: !PE3
microsteps: 16
rotation_distance: 40
endstop_pin: PF2
position_endstop: 0
position_max: 200
homing_speed: 50

Your first picture looks like the correct wiring.

The pins on the XY endstop PCB are Gnd, X, Y, Vin  ... Black Gnd, Red X, Yellow Y, Blue Vin

On the motherboard side with the twin 3pin plugs you need from right to left in your last picture Red, black, blue, next plug first pin yellow

Or, in your last picture swap red and black and move the yellow wire one pin right

Or, I think more commonly its red, empty, blue on first plug and yellow, black, empty on the second plug

I have never had good results with these hall effect enstops though. The normal switch endstops are better. From memory, if I'm not mistaken, the hall effect endstops are not ment to be an upgrade or a better solution than switches, they were designed to get around a problem with a much earlier revision of Voron printers though I have no clue what that might have been. I could be completely mistaken though.

They need to be calibrated with the small potentiometers on the endstop pcb and in my experience a high proportion of the ones shipped either don't work at all, or don't work as they are supposed to.

BUGALAWS.....Thank you very much for this tip. That was the problem, I removed the jumper and now it works. Thank you very much. I hope that I can ask more questions if I have problems, but only if you don't mind.
