Editing G code not working

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone. I've been using Orca slicer for a while and I find it the best one out of the ones I've used. I'm trying to about 4 or 5 lines of code into the start G code which I can and I can save the the print preset no problem. I can slice the model there is no issue there. I can export the G code. There is no issue there. When I tae a look at the G code the code I've added and even editing existing code hasn't been exported. The exported code is just as the original preset. If I edit the code outside of the slicer and run it on the printer it does work fine. Am I missing something? Is there a setting or preference that needs turning on or off to enable the edited code to be exported. Many thanks for any help.

Jason.

Hi @Jason D

So these 4-5 lines of code... Are you adding them to "Machine Start G-Code" in the Printer Settings menu?

Mine is extremely simple. All I'm doing is calling my print_start macro and setting 2 variables.

In any G-Code I have on the Pi that I create with Orca, I have a section around line 180 called... ;Type:Custom where whatever g-code I add is inserted.
