Deleting necessary for repeated flashing??

Hi, after building a V0.1 last year, I am not on a Voron R2 2.4. The configuration is BTT Manta M8P V2.0 + CB1 V2.2 + EBB36 V1.2. 

(For me) Difficulty level for the mechanical part was 5%, for the electrical part was 5% and for the software side....well, just cant make it work (by that i mean mainsail showing me any errors so i can get started with the printer.cfg) after weekends over weekends. 

I watched various videos to set the system up but for each video there is always another result/error that happens on my side that does not show in the video so i start the next video and the same happen again. I start thinking maybe there is too much trash on the MCU/EBB now so wondering whether i have to fully clean them (somehow) up before starting again? Quite depressing to be honest.

What i did for now is emptying the printer.cfg and just adding the canbus_uuids as shown in one of the videos but even that doesnt work and strangely when looking at the klippy log file there is still the old "serial = /dev/serial/by-id/usb-Klipper_stm32h723xx_1A0021001951313434373135-if00" showing and the statement unable to connect making me wonder whether the it does not update what I input into the printer.cfg.

Side note: i had the U2C between the M8P and the #BB36 first but also with that set-up i didnt get it running at all.

I don’t know if you followed this guide but it’s helped me. Follow the link to Esoterical’s canbus guide.  https://canbus.esoterical.online/Getting_Started.html

I’d start with the guide, but I’d double check that your canbus interface is up and running.  Also since  klippy.log showed the serial interface I’d verify the printer.cfg file.

The Esoterical guide doesn't work to well with the Manta CB1 combination. You can use it to set up the EBB36 but not the M8P.

Patrick does a pretty good job of explaining it (he is a bit wordy at times). Give it a try.

Thanks all for the advices. I re-ran the whole process from this website here: CBT Kit Manta M8P V2 + CB1 Start Guide – MPX Wiki and that made it work instantly. In my view the clearest explanation including some trouble shooting advice.

That's a good find, I might try and revive my M8P v1.2.
