Voron 2.4 Help in Dallas

BrentW

Recommended Posts

Hello, all.  I'm new here and to Voron.  I had my eye on a 2.4 and bought one on FB Marketplace.  I know you learn a ton during the build process, but candidly I was happy to avoid the time sink giving all the other things I have going on right now.  But, I'm having unexpected issues with the printer.  Maybe I should have expected that on FBM.  I'd like to find someone in the Dallas area who would be willing to take a look at it, help me along the learning curve, and get me through my first print.  I'd gladly pay them as a consultant, tutor, etc.  If anyone is interested or has a recommended resource, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.

Hey @BrentW

Sadly, I do not know of anyone in that area that can help you.

But...

You are on a forum that is mostly made up of bored old men (and not so old men and some ladies) that have built a half a dozen printers minimum that are just itchin' to help some newb get his Voron running. 😆

So, while you're waiting... Start a thread, describe what you bought. Post up some photos. etc. I guarantee that the knowledge repository on this site will exceed any one person you might find.

Plus...

You bought a Voron😀... And you'll have to learn your Voron (sorry, old guy talking) whether it's through building or thru buying one and figuring it out. It's like buying a jet fighter.... And your trainer says, What? You didn't think you'd have to learn all the complex systems to fly it did ya? Except it's not that bad and it can be a very fun and rewarding process and we will help you if you ask.

Cheers Brent 🍻

Welcome to the forum. I am one of the "not bored but grumpy" old men my friend talks about. Once we get some more info - we will be able to help. It could be a multitude of things and that is where building the printer helps in troubleshooting. But there is always a solution to any problem. As @Penatr8tor said - start a thread "How to fix my FB marketplace printer" or something like that. Some background is always helpful - What printer board does it have, What runs klipper (Raspi Pi or BTT pi, CB1), what interface is loaded (Fluid/Mainsail) , what are you using for a screen, BUT more importantly What is exactly the problem? Tell us the problem and watch the magic happen.

Maybe it would profit you to go to the Vorondesign.com website and download the assembly manual. That may help you with understanding the printer better. Reviewing the proper web pages that describe assembly and setup may help as well. As someone else commented, you will have to gain knowledge on how the machine works, and this forum, as well as the official Voron website can help.

Thanks, all.  I'll be back with a detailed post.

Nice! I think we can get your printer up and running. 👍

Or at the very least grinding the nozzle into the bed. 😬

...Oops did I say that? 😯

I meant we'll get you printing perfect parts in no time. 😃 👍

Hello to Texas. Let me be the first here to drop a reality bomb! You didn't purchase a microwave where you insert a frozen burrito and get an unhealthy meal.

This is real technical brain drain stuff and takes alot of time to get figured out. You are starting with a great design but it also is more complex and harder to work on than the traditional beginner machines like creativity ender 3 where things are very basic and easy to access. That being said think of it like purchasing a turbine single engine fixed wing as a beginner pilot. Your in for a very intense period of WTF. My advise would be don't expect cup of noodle, this is a five course high end gourmet meal and your starting from scratch. 12 months is not unrealistic for a learning curve, better be in for the long haul!
