Power supply vs bed heater voltage

Hi. My power supply is 230V but my bed heater show 110V/750W. Since both parts came in the same kit I would assume it is ok but fail to understand how this not buring up the bed heater. Anyone can help shining some light on this?

THANKS!!

Since these heaters are simple resistive elements, we can use Ohms Law to check what the resistance is.

Then using that resistance, we can check the power at 220 volts.

You could measure the resistance as a sanity check. If it measures around 16Ω then the 110V label is correct and the heater would be unfit for a 220V setup. You would want to see something closer to 65Ω for a 220V heater.

Can you confirm what the voltage is at your house power points? Sorry if it's a silly question. If you're on 110v you might  just have to flip a switch on the kit power supply, if you're on 230v I wouldn't consider using that bed heater fo a second.

Thanks. The measured resistance is 16.4 Ohm and my house power supply is 230V. If I understand correctly that would be an issue now, right?

Yep, I don't think a 3kW bed heater is a good idea. You might be able to get the seller to replace it for you but that will take some time.

You could try running the heater off of a 120V transformer like this but that will complicate the wiring. Just make sure to stay well below the wattage rating while in use. You can reduce the max power for the bed output in Klipper if needed.

House power supply is 230V. The printer power supply (LRS200-24) is flipped to 230V too but the heating bed is not directly connected to the LRS anyway but to the house supply according to the Voron manual.

Yeah, seems like you have the wrong heater, that's a shame. I hope you haven't stuck it to the bed yet, it'll be messy to get off.

Same happened to me - ordered a Micron Kit and this generally ships with a 120V heater. Contacted Fabreeko at the time and no replacement was offered, rather advised to buy a 240V heater pad, which I did.

Sometimes it's best to just throw a few dollars at the problem. What's a bed heater going for these days... $40-$50 for a 300x300 I think.
